Duke University Graduation Photography
Wenjia is a Class of 2025 Graduate from the Duke University School of Law. If you've ever been on Duke's campus during commencement, you know how busy it gets. This session in particular was taken on the day of graduation, so there was around 500 people near the chapel, including other photographers, families and graduates. But goes to show that you can still get amazing graduation photos even on the busiest day of the year! Duke's campus offers so many stunning backdrops, from the iconic Duke chapel to the gorgeous greenery. By knowing how to work with light and position graduates, there are ways to make these photos feel calm and personal even if there are huge crowds around.
For Wenjia's session we focused on getting clean, professional portraits around Duke Chapel, and also incorporating natural moments that feel real and not overly posed.
I am a graduation photographer based in Raleigh, NC, and I regularly photograph graduation sessions through the Triangle, including at Duke University, UNC Chapel Hill, and NC State.
